Here, at Fielding, we're encouraging Bucket Filling. What is Bucket Filling?
The bucket represents a person's mental and emotional self. When a person's bucket is full, he feels more confident, secure, happy, and friendly. His thoughts are more positive and he spread happiness to others. When a person's bucket is empty, it contains few, if any, happy or positive thoughts or feelings. A person with an empty bucket can easily become sad, insecure, angry, nervous, depressed, and negative. The "fullness" of one's bucket affects one's behavior.
When someone "fills" another person's bucket, he shares actions or words that shows he cares about others. He smiles, does something kind, is respectful, helps without being asked, gives compliments, and is thoughtful. There are hundreds of ways to fill buckets.
Listed below are a couple of links that will take you to a couple of read aloud books. These books are great reminders for us all. Enjoy!
